When Jack Behrmann
opened his small letterpress shop on Monroe Street in 1928, he
believed that attention to detail in his workmanship and in his
customer relations would result in a successful business. In
1958, his son Mickey Behrmann was handed the torch and is still
active in the business.
Today, in it's third
generation exceeding 75 years of business, Behrmann Printing is
still family owned and run by Jack Behrmann's three grandchildren
Ivan, Steven, & Scott. The company is still guided by the
principles that originally inspired Jack Behrmann. By
specializing in a limited number of very exacting printing
processes, including small format litho with raised printing, foil
stamping, embossing, diecutting and finishing, the company has
served the trade faithfully. Throughout its 75 plus years,
Behrmann Printing has been the recipient of hundreds of awards from the
Foil Stamping and Embossing Association, the Craftsman Club, and the
International Association of Thermographers.
In 1995, Behrmann
Printing acquired Jacobs Embossed Products, another longtime quality
company, performing foil stamping and embossing services in Detroit.
Behrmann Printing has 17
presses to handle the requirements of its finishing operations; a
folding gluing operation and a small bindery operation. In
addition to these, Behrmann Printing has 4 full-time thermography
units capable of traditional and laser proof raised printing.
The overriding
philosophy at Behrmann Printing starts with understanding the needs
and requirements of their customers, and then overachieving to meet
them. Secondly, long-time, highly experienced employees, who
truly understand all aspects of producing high quality work.
Thirdly, organizing and running an efficient operation with a
dedicated staff.
The bottom line is, as
all of those know who have worked with Behrmann Printing, nothing
leaves the shop that is not perfect.
